IA East Fall Olympics 2024
The 2024 Fall Olympics took place on Friday, October 11th for the International Academy East! The six houses; Audemus - Go Lions, Valemus - Go Wolfs, Scimus - Go Dragons, Somnamus - Go Pegasus, Miramur - Go Unicorns, and Curamus - Go Flamingos, competed for the glory of their house.
The battle for points had started Monday of that week since it was Spirt week. For participating in the dress up challenges of spirit week, students and teachers won points for their house. The house with the most points by the end of Olympics would win!

Then on Friday morning, everyone came with their house shirts and color, all excited and spirited for it to begin. Then as soon as first block started, they announced the house in lead so far, and it was Curamus! In the morning till 11 o’clock, the students had classes like they would have on a half day. Then they had lunch and house pics till about 12 o’clock. After that they had their opening ceremony in the gym where all the houses sat down and watched their team’s representatives compete in their first event. The opening ceremony event was Fowling - which was basically bowling with a football. Somnamus won the opening ceremony event and after that all the students went for their Olympic events.
All the students competed very hard for their house in both blocks of Olympic events. After that, all excited and exhausted to know who won, they all went to the Baker Field for the closing ceremony event which was Tug of War, but before the closing ceremony started, a few teachers were dancing and then a whole mob of students came to dance and it was a flash mob dance and everyone had lots of fun. Then we had a tug of war competition between houses for the closing ceremony!
After that they finally announced what we all had been waiting for - the winner! So, drumroll please, the top two houses are, in 2nd place was house Curamus! Then in 1st place and the IAE Fall Olympics champion house is, house Somnamus! Go Pegasuses! It was a wonderful and fun day for everyone, and we are already looking forward to the IAE Winter Olympics!
