Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit
Have you ever found a problem in the world and thought 'I need to solve this', or 'I can solve this'?
Students from Larson Middle School in the club or elective for Science Fair have been working all year on their projects to solve a problem in the world, make a discovery, or test a hypothesis through a project in which they would create a trifold board to compete in the Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit (SEFMD).
On March 20th, while the students were at school, their projects got judged at the Huntington Palace in Detroit - where the fair was held! So, without further delay, here are the results; from Larson, Lakshya Matele got grand award - which is the place higher than first - Maya Chernolustskiy, Evan Hwang and Aashay Patel got second place, Sahana Nair got third place, and the rest of the people from Larson took fourth and fifth places! Larson’s students also won many professional awards! But this fair is not the end of this competition, four students from Larson also got an invite to apply for the national fair! This was amazing and all the hard work that the students had been putting in all year on their projects paid off!
From Troy, Baker’s students also got a grand award, a third place, and one invite to apply for the national Science Fair! Boulan Park’s student got a second place and one invite to apply for the national Science Fair!
Larson got so far because, of course all the student’s hard work, but also because of Mr. Egan, our Science Fair Coach/Teacher who gave us guidance and help throughout the whole year! Congratulations to all the students and good luck for next year and to get into the national fair!
